2018: Year at a Glance

As the year comes to an end, we reflect on the accomplishments of LiveWell partners in making Greenville a healthy place to live, learn, work, play and pray. LiveWell’s role in the community is to connect, convene, support, facilitate and evaluate cross sector collaborations working to increase access to healthy eating and active living.  As of the end of 2018, the Evaluation Team has presented in 29 State, Regional or National Conferences and published 15 Peer Review Manuscripts.  For Healthy Eating– the Summer Feeding task force collected baseline data from feeding feeding sites in 2018.  This data is being analyzed and we hope share results and suggestions on ways to improve the quality of foods served at our Annual Meeting on Friday, April 5th, 2019.  For Active Living– three elementary schools that practice Open Community Use are working with LWG partners to promote the use of their outdoor recreation facilities to the public during non-school hours.  Over 1,000 children participated in Park Hop, a summer long scavenger hunt to encourage families to discover and explore parks.

At the first Annual Wellies Event, LiveWell celebrated 87 partners for adopting over 2,300 policies, systems or environments impacting approximately 68,000 individuals.  We are thankful for our partners and our funders who make this work possible.  Thank you for your generosity.
