Play Format and Policies
Tournament Play and Format:
- Balls will be Franklin X-40 Outdoor balls (Optic Yellow).
- Schedules will be emailed to players 1 week prior to the tournament.
- Teams should remain on site and prepare to play at any time during their scheduled portion of the day, as play may advance more quickly than posted.
- The tournament staff reserves the right to combine age divisions and/or skill divisions based on registrations.
- The tournament will not report scores to DUPRs; however, players may self-report their own scores.
- Round robin and semi-final matches are played for 11 points, win by 2 points. The Championships are played for 15 points, win by 2 points.
- All registered teams are guaranteed a minimum of 5 games. The playoff rounds will be single elimination.
- Brackets will begin with round-robin play. The top 4 teams in each group will advance to the playoffs. Advancement is based on total number of wins. In the event of a tie, head-to-head play will be used as a tiebreaker. If an additional tiebreaker is needed, score differential will be used.
- Medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams in each age division.
- Stay informed about match changes due to weather by following LiveWell Greenville on Instagram @LiveWellGreenville. If you have provided us with your email address, you will also receive notification via email. If you have not provided your partner’s email address, please keep them informed.
- Score recorders will be stationed at every few courts. After each game, one representative from the winning team is responsible for reporting your game’s score to the nearest score recorder.
- Teams are responsible for self-regulating calls. If there is a disagreement on a call that cannot be settled by the teams together, the point should be replayed. Players are expected to be honest and cooperative when calling faults. Play is to be conducted utilizing USA Pickleball rules.
Cancellation Policy:
Up through the close of registration, registered players can receive a full refund less a $15 processing fee. After registration closes (October 6), we are unable to provide a refund as tournament expenses will have already been paid to vendors.
Inclement Weather or Disaster
- Matches that are postponed due to inclement weather or other events outside the tournament’s control will be rescheduled on the same day, if possible. Registrants who no-show for re-scheduled matches will forfeit those matches and, as a result, are not eligible to receive a refund.
- The tournament is unable to schedule a makeup day for matches that are cancelled due to severe inclement weather. Registrants cannot be issued a refund for cancelled matches due to severe inclement weather or events outside the tournament’s control.
