Community Engagement Coalition
Working to cultivate a community where everyone in Greenville County has the opportunity to belong and reach their fullest health potential.

Coalition Priorities
The Community Engagement Coalition brings together residents and partners to build trust, share power, and ensure that community voices help shape decisions that impact health and well-being. We focus on listening deeply, removing barriers like language access, and supporting community-led research and advocacy that reflects the lived realities of Greenville County.
Building Trust, Building Community
Uplifting resident voices and relationships to shape policy, shift systems, and build a more connected Greenville County.
HEAL Board
A resident-led advisory board made up of passionate community members who bring lived experience, cultural insight, and local knowledge to the table. The HEAL Board plays a critical role in guiding LiveWell’s work—shaping strategies, identifying barriers, and ensuring that community priorities are not just heard, but acted on. By centering those most impacted by health disparities, the board helps drive more equitable, responsive, and lasting solutions across Greenville County.
Trusted Messenger
Community members who serve as bridges between residents and institutions—building trust, sharing resources, and bringing vital information to hard-to-reach populations.
Community-Led Research
Supporting residents in guiding health research and policy through a model that values lived experience and local leadership.
Equity in Public Health Initiative (EPHI)
A resident-led advisory board made up of passionate community members who bring lived experience, cultural insight, and local knowledge to the table. The HEAL Board plays a critical role in guiding LiveWell’s work—shaping strategies, identifying barriers, and ensuring that community priorities are not just heard, but acted on. By centering those most impacted by health disparities, the board helps drive more equitable, responsive, and lasting solutions across Greenville County.
Mapping Community Realities
Using data and storytelling to surface strengths, gaps, and lived experiences that shape community health.
Roots and Research Board
This project, developed in partnership with Furman University’s Institute for the Advancement of Community Health, is redefining what research looks like—placing community members, not institutions, in the lead. Through this model, neighbors are trained and supported to serve as researchers, identifying the questions that matter most and shaping how data is collected, interpreted, and used. The goal isn’t just to gather information, but to build power and drive change, ensuring research leads to action that reflects the priorities, insights, and leadership of the community. This initiative is supported by the American Heart Association and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
Language Access and Belonging
Removing barriers to participation by fostering multilingual spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and included.
Bilingual Meetings
We design our Coalition meetings to be fully bilingual (English / Spanish) to ensure that language is never a barrier to participation. By creating inclusive spaces where everyone can listen, speak, and be heard in their preferred language, we foster trust, strengthen relationships, and build a deeper sense of belonging.
Simultaneous Interpretation Equipment
LiveWell Greenville has invested in state-of-the-art interpretation equipment, trained facilitators, and simultaneous interpreters to support real-time engagement in both English and Spanish. This allows everyone to fully participate, without delays or confusion, and ensures that language is never a barrier to connection or contribution.
The equipment is available for rent to local organizations and businesses. To learn more, contact Amanda Warren at awarren@livewellgreenville.org.
