Huge success at Park Hop

The 2016 Park Hop Kick-Off Celebration was held on Saturday, May 14th at Sunset Park in Mauldin. All of Greenville County’s parks and recreation departments and local organizations came together to host this community event with fun activities for all to enjoy. The Kick-Off Celebration featured an on-site scavenger hunt, activities with all of the parks and recreation departments across Greenville, inflatable batting cage from the Greenville Drive, inflatable archery with Cabela’s and much more! Many participants won prizes to local places like the Greenville Zoo and Greenville Drive. Click here to view photos from the event.

Park Hop is a summer-long scavenger hunt in 19 parks and recreation locations across Greenville County. Clues are accessed through the mobile app or you can sign-up to get the printable passport. You can visit the parks and answer the clues until August 1st. Surveys and passports should be submitted no later than Monday, August 1st at midnight.

By participating in Park Hop, you can win local prizes with a chance to win several grand prizes. We celebrate our Park Hoppers each summer with a Closing Celebration, where we give away the earned prizes and draw for many other adventure-themed prizes. You must be present to win the prize drawings. These prizes include a camping weekend at Paris Mountain, camping gear, passes to events at Roper Mountain Science Center, bicycles, and more.

Every child who visits at least 5 parks will receive a LiveWell Greenville drawstring bag; at least 10 parks will receive a Park Hop t-shirt; and 15 parks or more will receive a voucher to a Greenville Drive game. If you cannot be present for the Closing Celebration but earned prizes based on visiting 5, 10, or 15 parks, we will set up two prize pick-up days at a local community center in August. We will be sure to post that information in advance. Park Hop is made possible through the following partners and sponsors: Safe Kids Upstate, Cunningham Recreation, Greenville Drive, Kidding Around Greenville; Roper Mountain Science Center; City of Fountain Inn Parks & Recreation; City of Greenville Parks, Recreation, & Sustainability; City of Greer Parks & Recreation; City of Mauldin Parks & Recreation; City of Simpsonville Parks & Recreation; and Greenville County Parks, Recreation, & Tourism.
