Last week the CarMax Foundation and KaBOOM! came to Greenville to help our city build a grant-awarded playground at the David Hellams Community Center in the Greenline-Spartanburg neighborhood.
In September, the youngest community members helped design their ideal playground for the site; everything came to fruition in a single day last Wednesday, November 4.
More than 150 city and community volunteers, as well as LiveWell Greenville staff, coalition partners and CarMax employees, worked together to turn a muddy downtown Greenville lot into a playground ready for a ribbon-cutting and a lifetime of memories – all by 3:00 p.m.
