LiveWell Greenville is partnering with the South Carolina Community Loan Fund as part of the access to healthy foods work group in an entrepreneurial event entitled Feeding Innovation: Developing Healthy Food Retail Businesses.
Feeding Innovation is designed to develop or expand healthy food opportunities by developing new healthy food businesses in low income areas of South Carolina that have been identified as “food deserts.” The program also aids in the development of strong, local entrepreneurs and community-based businesses.
Examples of these types of businesses include farmers’ markets, mobile markets, corner stores, and CSAs. The goal of the program is to increase access to healthy food while supporting the development of strong, local entrepreneurs and community-based businesses.
As a part of this exciting opportunity participants will engage in an 8 week entrepreneurial training program with NxLevel courses, and have the opportunity to work one on one with a business mentor. The program concludes with a live pitch to a panel of judges of the business plan. The entrepreneur with the strongest business plan will receive $10,000 in seed capital for their business. The only cost is your time and commitment!
