Jill making a healthy snack

It’s hard to believe, but I’m getting close to publishing our 400th healthy afterschool blog article. Since I regularly write about the healthy afterschool movement, I love finding resources that makes me say “WOW – that’s cool!”

Today, it was Jill’s Snack Menu.

You’re probably familiar with my colleague Jill Turley. She’s one of our National Nutrition Advisors. One of my favorite collaborations with Jill was “Family Engagement through Food Preservation, Science and Culture.”

Snacks Can Be Healthy & Fun

If you’re like me, you know it’s important to “Bring Smart Snacks” and increase your fruit and vegetable intake.

Let’s be honest. Having a regular supply of new ideas for healthy snacks can be challenging.

Guess what?!

Jill has taken the guesswork out of four weeks of healthy snacks. With the new CACFP meal pattern taking effect in October, it’s the perfect time to freshen up your menu.

Visit Jill’s Snack Menu and find a new idea. My favorite? Friday of Week 2: banana slices, mini whole grain waffle and sunbutter.
