LiveWell Greenville’s Park Hop Campaign has been selected for presentation at the 2014 Active Living Research Conference in San Diego, California on March 9-12, 2014. This abstract was developed by PhD student Gina Bensenyi and Dr. Andrew Kaczynski from the USC Arnold School of Public Health, in conjunction with the Park Hop team. Dr. Kaczysnki and Gina Bensenyi partnered with LiveWell Greenville to assess the impact that Park Hop had on physical activity, parks usage, and parks discovery for the participants in Greenville County. Dr. Kacyzynski will continue to partner with LiveWell Greenville in the development and assessment of future Park Hop Campaigns as well as other ongoing parks and recreation initiatives and studies.
The Active Living Research Conference will feature research and programming nation and world wide that focuses on the impact of environmental and policy changes to increase physical activity such as complete streets and evidence based practices in schools. This growing area of research focuses not only on fostering and presenting innovative research but providing access to information non-scientists.
