That is a wrap on the 4th Annual Park Hop! This year was a success and could not have been done without the support and participation of Park Hop families in and around the Greenville area. Park Hop 2016 came to a close last night at lovely Greer City Park as about 400 people came out to celebrate another fun year of exploring and discovering some of our great parks. The Closing Celebration featured 12 vendors with various activities and a healthy snack from PDQ. Sponsors included Cunningham Recreation and Safe Kids Upstate, who handed out free water bottles to all of our participants.
This summer, we had over 350 families participate in Park Hop, completing over 2,700 park visits, exploring some of Greenville’s great playgrounds, green spaces, and other park features. Last night, we celebrated those ‘Expert Hoppers’ by giving away many great prizes supported by local organizations. Youth who visited 5 parks received a swag bag with some play gear and coupons. Those who visited 10 parks also received a Park Hop t-shirt, and those who completed at least 15 park visits received a ticket to our Play Day at the Greenville Drive stadium on August 28th. Also, 40 families won in adventure-themed prize packages, including camping gear packages from REI and Cabela’s, games and a kayak from Cabela’s, annual waterpark and bounce house passes from Greenville County Recreation, and a special family prize pack from the Greenville Drive. Thank you for all those organizations that provided tickets and prizes. We truly appreciate your support in helping us reach our mission to get provide safe and convenient places for all children and families to play.
We invite all children and families to join us on August 28th for our Play Day at the Greenville Drive stadium. Before the game, there will be games on the field for children and families, and we will highlight Park Hop throughout the game in different ways. Come celebrate Park Hop and LiveWell Greenville at the ball field on August 28th.
