LiveWell Greenville’s Food Security Coalition distributes CARES Act mini-grants to food providers

As we move into the holiday season and the end of an incredibly challenging year, emergency food providers find themselves low on resources and stretching already depleted budgets to meet the increased demand for their services. LiveWell Greenville’s Food Security Coalition has received county CARES Act funding to recruit and engage food providers servicing Greenville County who are in need of additional funding for food and personal protective equipment (PPE) costs during November and December 2020.

To be eligible for these mini-grants emergency food providers (e.g. food pantries, faith organizations, childcare programs, soup kitchens) must complete an online pre-approval application by 11:59pm December 4, 2020. If approved, the food provider will be reimbursed for food and PPE costs up to the amount of $10 per client served for costs accrued between November 12 through December 31, 2020.

  • Invoices and receipts will be needed for reimbursement. All funds are dispersed on a first-come first serve basis.
