What is the LiveWell Greenville At Worship Toolkit?
The LiveWell Greenville At Worship Toolkit is a resource developed to provide houses of worship and congregations with the knowledge, tools, and resources to make healthy physical activity and nutrition changes. This toolkit was developed by LiveWell Greenville in collaboration with upstate houses of worship and health and wellness experts.
Why the At Worship Toolkit Was Developed?
The toolkit was developed out of recognition that for an individual to be totally well it is important not only to nurture the spirit, but to provide the body with healthy nutritious food and daily physical activity. The congregational setting is considered a safe haven and often serves as the center of community lifefor Greenville County residents and people throughout the world. In hours of need, people often look totheir faith family for prayers and support related to sickness, injury or personal crisis. A congregational wellness program can build upon that sense of community and trust to extend valuable health information, support and nurturing to congregational members. The wellness program provides qualityresources for health-related issues.
