LiveWell At Early Childhood is embarking on an expansion of our great work with Early Childcare Centers, to help make the healthy choice the easy choice where we learn and play! If you are a childcare provider, or if your child is being served by a childcare provider, and are interested in improving healthy eating and active living best practices, then consider encouraging you early childcare center to join Palmetto HEALthie Start! When your center joins Palmetto HEALthie Start, you will gain access to FREE, easy-to-use online tools and education materials to help create a healthier child care environment! Palmetto HEALthie Start is a two-year initiative and research opportunity designed to improve the quality and variety of healthy eating, physical activity, and outdoor play activities in childcare centers across the Upstate of South Carolina. Facilitated by LiveWell Greenville, Clemson University Youth Learning Institute (CU YLI) SNAP-Ed, and Furman University, this initiative will: • Encourage positive provider-child interactions around food and physical activity; • Promote educational opportunities for children, parents, and providers around nutrition and active living; and, • Establish or refine program policies related to healthy eating and physical activity within the child care setting. • Align with ABC Quality Standards If your center is interested in learning more about this opportunity, please complete this interest survey.
