Nicholtown Bike Share Coming in Spring 2011
Nicholtown residents are making big plans! Among a long list of goals for the Nicholtown Neighborhood Association is a Bike Share initiative. In partnership with First Baptist Church of Greenville, a congregation just across the Reedy River, and the City of Greenville, Nicholtown leaders are acquiring new and used bikes of all sizes to keep at the Nicholtown Community Center. A system will be developed for residents to check out a bike to take a ride on the Greenville Hospital System Swamp Rabbit Trail, tour the system of bike lanes through Cleveland Park or run an errand. Group rides are also planned.
To ensure the safety of adults and children on bikes, neighborhood residents are working with the City of Greenville and LiveWell partners to identify the safest route to the Swamp Rabbit Trail and to destinations such as Cleveland Park. Information about safe routes to trails and parks will be disseminated throughout the community.
