At Work
LiveWell Greenville supports employers with tools and information and provides links to resources that can help employees live well at work.
Our Goals
- Employees eat healthy food during and after work
- Employees are more physically active
- More employers support and reward employees for healthy eating and active living
The Challenge
Staying healthy on the job is not easy. Vending machines with unhealthy choices, availability of fast food and sedentary roles contribute to the rise in obesity and chronic disease. Employers are increasingly concerned with keeping employees healthy due to the increase in the cost of poor health (absenteeism, reduced productivity and health care costs). While some employers are making significant investments in workplace health programs, all employers can make changes within their work place and promote healthy lifestyles to encourage employees to live well.
How will we cultivate healthy workplaces to help employees LiveWell?
- Increase the number of work places that adopt policies and environments that support employees in staying physically active and eating healthy, nutritious food
LiveWell Greenville will offer tools, tips and resources to local employers that will help employees live well. The LiveWell Greenville website will offer sample vending policies, links to exercise programs such as stairwell campaigns and walking programs.
LiveWell Greenville plans to unveil a healthy workplace toolkit that will help employers assess current policies, programs and the workplace environment, identify priorities for improvements and develop a plan. A listing of local workplace health providers offering comprehensive workplace health services is listed on the Tools page below. Promote living well in office environment and reward those who do so
